Wheel Chock and Holder ARG Wheel Chocks - The best in the industry!
The use of traditional chocks without handles requires workers to bend to ground level each time they exit a vehicle in order to chock the wheel, and each time they use go to use the vehicle to pick up the chock. Repeatedly lifting items from the ground onto the back of a vehicle involves repetitive bending, lifting and lowering that, over time, can result in musculoskeletal disorders.  The ARG chocks reduce the risk of worker's developing musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) as workers do not have to bend to ground level to place and remove the chocks.

Workers often store traditional chocks behind the passenger seat of a 4wd for ease of retrieval. The chock can then easily become a projectile in the event of a vehicle accident or roll over. Chocks are also often stored on the tray of a ute which can easily move around while driving over rough terrain. This results in the worker having to reach over the tray using an awkward posture, which is a direct risk factor for musculoskeletal disorders. The ARG chocks reduce the risk of MSDs such as lower back injuries sustained through the use of awkward postures, and shoulder injuries which may result from extended reach and lifting required to retrieve chocks from the back of a ute tray. The ARG chocks reduce this risk as they are stored on the back of the vehicle attached to the spare tyre, and can therefore be stored and removed while the worker is standing with a neutral posture.

ARG chocks are a cost effective, easy to implement method for companies to reduce the risk of their workers developing musculoskeletal disorders. MSDs have considerable financial impact in the coal mining industry through loss of production, costs associated with treatment and rehabilitation of injured workers and depending on their level of severity, can result in chronic pain, permanent loss of function and a reduction in the quality of life for the injured person.

Wheel Chock and Holder PLUG BOAT
The ARG Plug Boats are being used at a number of Bowen Basin mines around the Dysart area, being a dragline operator Aidan Gorlick  had designed his ARG Plug Boat to float in order to keep the connections - which carry very high voltage of electricity - out of the water as well as protecting it from other elements as well like rocks whilst being dragged along on the ground.

The steel device which weighs around 245kg also secures the connections to prevent plugs coming apart when cables are pulled, helping reduce damage.
The ARG Plug Boats assist in moving the connections, which can weigh about 150kg and also leave enough room for electricians to attend to any repairs or maintenance.

There are similar things around, but the ones I've seen don't float and aren't as user-friendly as mine - once the plug is placed onto the boat in the clamps it's as simple as doing up 4 bolts to secure cable and plug onto the ARG Plug Boat and then the blokes don't have to touch the plug at all to move them around the mine site hence this eliminates the risk of back or even personal injury because there is no manual lifting or handling required.

Mr Gorlick, a qualified boilermaker has other mines seeking to fit out there site out with ARG Plug Boat and he had interest from other operations as well so we enlisted the help of Bundaberg Sandblasting to produce more of the dragline plug boats, and so far we have supplied over 100 ARG Plug Boats to numerous minesites around bowen Basin.

Mr Gorlick and his wife Robyn - a partner in the ARG business - had been determined to ensure the ARG Plug boat remained an Australian manufactured product and locally manufactured to create jobs and this we have done.

We believe his devices would find a ready market among mines further afield this is why we have decided to go to the Surat Basin mining expo to enable us to devote some time to promoting them throughout the industry and Queensland and NSW. We will have representatives from our manufacturers at the expo to answer questions.

The Gorlicks hope to make inroads into the New South Wales and West Australian mining sectors as well.
We are hoping to do a trip over there (Western Australia) and attend a mining expo sometime.
